I have been collecting, wearing and making jewelry for as long as I can remember. As a child, I loved looking through my Grandmother's jewelry boxes and trying on their vintage treasures. Art has always been my passion and I have experimented with many different mediums over the years. I studied ceramics and art education at Southern Oregon University but it wasn't until I met a metalsmith instructor while on a study abroad in college that I truly began my journey into jewelry making. After completing courses in ceramics, I returned to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, a year later to take an intensive metalsmithing course. The skills I learned allowed me to turn my lifelong love of jewelry into a business.
I have been making one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry by hand for over 20 years. I love working with freshwater pearls, natural gemstones, sterling silver and gold. My process begins by hand selecting gemstones and pearls from all over the world. I love unusual color palettes, variations in sizes and shape and hand-forged textures. I design and make each piece by hand, form every ear wire and hammer each clasp.
I am inspired by the colors and textures in nature and the natural beauty of the stones and metals I create with. My hope is to make jewelry that is understated and elegant, simple yet unusual; perfect to wear everyday with your favorite jeans and t-shirt or for a special night out.
